Lake Rotuiti to Karamea

Today we took a hike around the lake. John was a little disappointed because the lakes are suppose to reflect the mountains in the water but the windy day stole his hopes and dreams. The hike was fun.




We then took the highways through the Buller Gorge to the west coast. We are heading up to Karamea to stay the night to see the Operara Basin in the morning. The campsite is good. We made friends with a couple of mountain bikers from Christchurch, walked along the beach and saw a gorgeous sunset.





The downside to this campsite sandflies and jackasses singing at night with their acoustic guitars.
